This is the project based on the D&AD brief of giffgaff company. All the designs revolve around the four steps of recycling mobile phones, they are respectively, go to the website to check how to recycle, get the courier box that giffgaff has prepaid for you, giffgaff will analyze your mobile phone, and then you will get cash.
20 second TV Spot
A study has estimated that as many as 40 million unused gadgets are languishing in the homes of people in the UK. The fraction including iron, copper, aluminium, gold and other metals in e-waste is over 60%, while pollutants comprise 2.70%. These facts emphasise the fact that e-waste, including old smartphones, contain a large amount of metal - some of which can be recycled and reused in future products. Therefore, if the metals in mobile phones can continue to live, then the metal elements and rare resources can be mined to accomplish sustainability.
I gave human attributes to the microchip in the phone. This is a story of how phones get damaged and then abandoned in the drawers by people until giffgaff’s mobile phone recycling program give them a second life.
